Every once in a while, our long-term garage goes through a shuffle, and this time it welcomed a brand-new member — the Tata Curvv. The moment it rolled in, heads turned. This isn’t just another compact SUV. The Curvv makes a statement, with its sleek coupe-like design, dramatic lighting signature, and a stunning golden shade that demands attention on the road.

Design
From the outside, the Tata Curvv is all about flair. It carries an unmistakable coupe silhouette, which sets it apart from the typical boxy SUV crowd. Sharp lines, full-width LED lighting, and striking alloys give it a premium road presence. But it doesn’t stop there. Step inside and the drama continues.
The interior of our Curvv Accomplished Plus variant is finished in a bold wine theme. This colour dominates the dashboard, seats, and even the steering wheel. It’s a brave, distinctive move from Tata, and it works surprisingly well. The cabin instantly feels upmarket and different from anything else in this price bracket.
Features
What also helps build that premium feel is the long list of features. There’s a panoramic sunroof that adds a sense of space and airiness to the cabin. The cooled front seats are already becoming a favourite, especially in the hot Mumbai summer. The placement of the button is slightly out of the way, but that’s a small compromise.
Entertainment is handled by a nine-speaker JBL sound system with different sound profiles, and we’re excited to test this out on upcoming road trips. The 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto works smoothly and is easy to use. Subtle ambient lighting runs across the dashboard and even onto the roof, with customisable colours that elevate the cabin vibe during night drives.
Then there’s the 360-degree camera, which is a game-changer for tight city parking. Add to that the digital instrument cluster, and you have a cabin that feels both high-tech and high quality.
Engine
Under the hood, our Curvv packs Tata’s latest 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. It delivers 123bhp and 225Nm of torque — more than enough for city traffic and weekend highway drives. The six-speed manual gearbox adds a layer of driver involvement that many enthusiasts will appreciate. So far, the car feels responsive and planted, thanks also to the 18-inch wheels and disc brakes all around.
We’re keen to see how it performs across different scenarios — rush-hour crawling, empty roads, hilly climbs, and long-distance cruising. So far, in the first 217km, it’s returned a fuel efficiency of 9.5kmpl. That number will be tracked closely over the coming weeks as we get more varied driving conditions.
Safety
Tata is serious about safety, and the Curvv reflects that. Six airbags come as standard. But more interestingly, it comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS features — a segment-first move at this price. Over the next few months, we’ll be testing how well these features work in real-world Indian traffic. Can they really make driving safer without being intrusive? Time will tell.

Next Steps
The Tata Curvv is now our daily ride. Over the next 90 days, we’ll be taking it through everything — bumper-to-bumper traffic, expressway runs, road trips, and maybe even a weekend hill station escape. We want to know how it copes with real-world challenges, how it evolves over time, and whether it can justify its premium price tag.
There’s a lot to like already, but also a lot to learn. And that’s exactly what makes long-term tests exciting. Stay tuned for updates on comfort, mileage, practicality, and how it all comes together in the long run.
